Beware the Dryads for they are the souls of the forest and will do anything to protect it.

When I first saw the Meadows at the Wild Villa, 2 sessions sprang to life in my minds eye. The first one was this. Dryads in their magical forest home. I texted over a few inspiration pictures to my makeup artist (who I swear is a mind reader), posted a model call and within days had the entire session put together.

Outfits were easy thanks to my deep client closet.

The dusty purple (Joyfolie) and the white dress (a custom creation by a friend who is no longer in business) had been sitting in my closet for years waiting for inspiration to strike. And then as a matter of pure luck, the last dress was already in the third model’s posession.

I can’t even describe how magical it feels to have a session fall together so seamlessly and turn out precisely as I had pictured it.

It’s safe to say I’m totally obsessed with this location and have already been back once since this day for a Rapunzel shoot and will be back so very soon to do an Ariel inspired session. Thanks to the Meadows at Wild Villa for creating the perfect space to make magical sessions like this happen.

AZ Creative Photographer transforms children into magical dryads

When I first began the dance squad in 2021 I had only one thought, to get some of the ideas I wanted to use with dancers out of my head and into the world. That first year I only had 3 dancers sign up and we had SO MUCH FUN doing anything and everything that popped into my mind that I decided to bring it back.

Now in the 3rd year with over half the squad being repeat members I am so excited for the solid foundation for this squad and the way ideas flow back and forth between the group.

I wanted to start the year off with a headshot session that captured the power I feel in this group of girls. So we let vogue inspire the outfits and headed to Downtown gilbert for a summer sunset session in one of my favorite locations.

We start every year off with a quick headshot session so the girls all have a chance to meet each other, get headshots for the upcoming competition year and for the newest members to get a feel for what it feels like to a dance session outside of the controlled studio.

This session was the best most exciting start to a dance squad yet and I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for this group of focused and passionate dancers.
