Sweet Studio Sessions//Arizona Portrait Photographer

When Olivia’s mom reached out to me about her birthday pictures I could not have been more excited. We had just wrapped up a year of her on the model squad and I was honored she wanted to come back for more. Lately, my sessions as of late have trended towards styled sessions and lots of props and color. When Olivia explained that she wanted to step back from all of that for a simple studio session I was thrilled! I so rarely get anyone who is EXCITED about studio portraits and I knew it would be a fun time to explore new spaces with this amazing girl.

I fell in love with Studio house AZ as soon as I pulled up their website. Everythign about their warehouse room was perfect for Olivia’s vision and she + her mom were on board with the drive down to phoenix.

I can’t believe I’ve been photographing this incredible girl for over 7 years.

Olivia, it has been a privilege and an honor to know you and capture you as you’ve grown. Thank you for trusting me with your vision on such a milestone birthday. I hope you love these images as much as I loved creating them for you!

The Dance Squad Takes over the fair//Arizona Dance Photographer

I don’t think anyone will ever fully understand my love for doing pictures at the Fair, except maybe now… the dance squad does.

When 2022 started out I knew I wanted the focus of my images with my model squads to be bright and vibrant colors. I wanted to look at the images and feel happy. I wanted the image to feel visually appealing and fun to look at. I wanted to create art that was the antithesis of how muddling through the last few years had felt.

I knew the state fair would be the session to wrap up my bold and colorful year and deep down, I knew these girls would just get it. So the date was set and the day requested off and we headed down to the (hot) Arizona state fair to see how dancers would ‘do’ the fair. I assigned each girl a color for her outfit to help her stand out from the colorful backdrops we would be working against. It was a perfect day except for one thing, the heat! I could have spent HOURS exploring the fair with this group if the heat hadn’t been trying to kill us all.

After 2.5 hours we called it quits but I think you’ll agree, we created a lot of fun together.
