THE INSPIRATION

Sweet baby C has been a huge inspiration to us over the last year and half. We absolutely love her parents and have treasured every minute of the joyous journey through her momma’s pregnancy, her birth, her milestones and now her first birthday celebration! C came all the way from Texas to see us for her birthday and we originally wanted to do an outdoor desert session to celebrate her family’s Arizona roots. However, the week they were in town we had freezing temperatures (which was so unexpected!) and pouring rain (what??) the day of her session. So we decided to take her simply styled session indoors to a local studio. We loved the plain white brick wall ad the blush pink colors and felt it was a perfect compliment to sweet C’s personality.

THE SESSION

Cake smashes are always a favorite for us. We love the wonderment of exploration and discovery at this age. Will they like the decor, the cake, or the bubble bath the most? To our (not so great) surprise, C was actually the most excited about all the attention from Dad as he monkeyed around trying to convince her to treat us to one of her rare and beautiful smiles.

THE REVIEW

We have fallen in love with our portrait, smash, bath time set up for our 1 year Birthday pictures. It allows us to capture the sweetness, personality and fun of each little one all while keeping them interested and engaged! We are so excited to be offering these sessions in our new studio beginning in February!

THE INSPIRATION

When we found out the Fontes family was expecting their second baby, I saw their maternity session come together in an instant. This down to earth family loves all things south west. When Presley was a newborn we did her newborn pictures with her dad’s cowboy hat and boots. I could immediately picture their southwest session as art hung in their home. Hailey and I brainstormed about the colors of the dress and quickly settled on green for her. I knew it would be the perfect compliment to her beautiful hair and eye color. From there it was a natural choice to pick shades of yellow and blue for the rest of her family.

THE SESSION

The session went just as we envisioned. The old stone buildings of scorpion gulch and desert mountain landscape of south mountain in Phoenix was a perfect setting. As an added bonus Arizona has had enough rain and warm weather in between the freezing nights that the yellow wildflower bushes were blooming. Our favorite moment was the tender mommy-daughter snuggles by the wildflowers as the sunset behind the mountains.

Reflection

Maternity sessions are one of our favorite sessions. We have said time and again, we love the opportunity to capture a family as you are before a big life change. When you add in a an older sibling capturing these images become especially precious for us.

Sweet Presley, Right now it’s just the three of you and you are so loved and adored by your parents. We have enjoyed watching you learn and grow over the last couple of years and know you will tackle being a big sister with all the joy and enthusiasm you carry into every aspect of your life!
