The Inspiration:
The color of the peach blossoms combined with the delicacy of the flower, has always reminded me of a classic Ballerina poised gracefully on stage. I’ve dreamt of bringing the two together for several years. In 2024 the Peach bloom was incredible and I knew it was the year to finally complete the dance photography session of which I had been dreaming. After posting the model call it quickly became apparent that most of my regular dancers were off at competitions the weekend of the peak bloom. Dismayed but not discouraged I continued my hunt for a dancer until a friend at the studio tagged this stunning dancer in the model call.
I wanted a very classic look for the ballerina in this session so we opted for a white leo with a pancake tutu. We scheduled the session for close to sunset for the glowiest of light. With expectations high and the excitement even higher we finally met up to make my dreams come true.
The Session
It could not have been a more perfect session.
The peach blooms, the dancer, the light, the weather. Honestly it feels like a waste of time to describe how this session went when the images speak for themselves. Even though I had never worked with Lilly before we soon found our metaphorical (and literal) footing. It was a dream come true. Every image was perfection. I was so thrilled with how this session came together.
The Recap:
Without rain this 2025 season, our wildflower season will be non existent. I am extremely grateful to farms like Agritopia for creating beautiful spaces like this in our urban desert to create. Thanks to the amazing invention of flood irrigation I still hold on to hope that I’ll be able to do at least one floral session during the 2025 spring season.
