There’s something truly magical about watching a child’s eyes light up when they meet Santa. For the past 10 years, I’ve been offering Santa sessions in Gilbert, Arizona, and every single one feels just as special as the first. This session (just look at that glowing moment!) reminds me year after year why I love what I do.

As a Gilbert Arizona child photographer, Christmas is the time of year that fills my heart the most. It’s not just about taking pictures. It’s about capturing joy, wonder, and the real magic of childhood. During these sessions, the kids get more than just a quick photo. They sit with Santa, read books, ask questions like, “How do the reindeer fly?” or “What’s your favorite cookie?” And let me tell you, Santa always has the best answers.

I started doing Santa sessions before I even had kids. But I’ll never forget the look on my own kids’ faces the first time they sat with him and I got to capture this memory for them. That sparkle in their eyes, that feeling that yes, magic is real. It was worth every bit of planning and waiting. And now, year after year, I bring it back. I anticipate it with joy and enthusiasm not just for my clients, but for my own children too. It’s become our favorite Christmas tradition. Honestly, it's the session I look forward to the most.

The Beauty of Every Age | A "Senior" Session at the MCC Rose Garden

Once upon a time, I was chatting with a friend from another country about my photography brand. I told them I offer “Senior Photos,” and they looked at me totally confused. “How do older people fit into your brand?” they asked. “How do you convince them to do pictures at all? And why is it such a big thing in America?”

It took me a second, but then I realized—they thought I meant senior citizens, not high school seniors! We both laughed at the mix-up, but the conversation stuck with me.

Because honestly? What a beautiful idea.

Why not celebrate that season of life too? Why not make photos of someone’s grandma just as magical as a child’s birthday or a teen’s graduation? Why not show them through the same lens of love and light and beauty we use for every other chapter of life?

That dream came true one golden evening at the MCC Rose Garden in Mesa, Arizona with the stunning and stylish Pink.

This session was pure joy. The garden was glowing with sunshine and color. Roses in every shade surrounded us. And Pink—wow. She absolutely lit up the whole space with her presence. Her floral dress matched the blooms, and the soft breeze played with her curls in the most perfect way.

There’s something so powerful about photographing someone who has lived a rich, full life. You can see the strength in her smile, the grace in her pose, and the beauty that shines from the inside out. As a Gilbert Arizona family and senior photographer, I’m so passionate about showing that beauty at every age. Every wrinkle, every laugh line, every story matters.
