That’s the vibe I wanted to capture.

Camping out beachside, playing the guitar, surfing, skating and sun.

and OF COURSE the classic VW Bus.

I wanted to create a session just for fun. Something I thought my son would just love. He’s my adventure buddy, always down to take the drive, always up to make a new friend, always wanting to be a part of the latest session I’ve created. So I made this just for him, and we invited other toddler families to join us to make it even more fun.

I loved the So Cal inspired fashion all of the kids showed up in. They all loved driving the bus and trying out the skateboards. It was the perfect way to just create for the fun of it and I can’t wait to do the next one!

Ellie + her Babies//Arizona Birthday Photographer

Something I’ve always wanted to do, is custom birthday sessions that really capture the essence of who the child is as they celebrate the start of a new year. Unfortunately, I have a much easier time showing you what I want to do, than telling you. Fortunately, my life is filled with cute nieces and nephews that I love dearly and know super well and are happy to help me out!

My sweet niece just turned 4. She’s a little mini mother who loves playing dolls, dressing up in my dresses and dotes on her younger siblings and cousins. I’ve had this idea in mind for her for a couple of years now and the timing felt perfect with her turning 4 and her youngest girl cousin small enough to fit in the stroller and just big enough to sit when propped up.

I asked Muddie Puddles if she could help me out with some vintage inspired outfits and searched Facebook marketplace until I found the perfect vintage doll stroller for our session.

Of course, it’s not really YOUR special birthday session if your Aunt styles the entire thing and doesn’t leave room for a little of your own flair. Ellie brought not only her own babies to her session but she brought her special mermaid necklace and her own sparkly shoes.

And as, as a girl after my own heart, she was sad to see me take the amazing doll stroller with me when I left. Don’t worry, I promised her she can play with it anytime she comes over ;)
