Game Day//Arizona Lifestyle Photographer

I love to kick off a new year by giving away a custom session to one family. This year was no different and after an exciting giveaway contest I was lucky to draw this incredible family as my winner. I reached out to mom to create a custom experience around something the family enjoyed doing together. With a 7 year age gap between her two children they, understandably, had varied interests. But one thing they love to do together is watch movies and play games. I loved the idea of a relaxed lifestyle session capturing those interests, so I created a cozy space perfect for watching movies, eating ice cream and playing games in my home studio in Gilbert, Arizona.

These siblings were the best! They were friendly and kind to each other. I loved the gentle way big brother guided little sister through playing some of his favorite game and earnestly played her favorite game, Memory, with her. Little sister was full of joy, admired her big brother and poured her whole heart into everything we did. Our session time together flew by with laughs and secrets shared and a quick lesson on how the new electronic monopoly game worked (I’m getting old!).

Fairy Dance Session//Arizona Child Photographer

Last year I created a spokesmodel team. It gave me the opportunity to really get to know a small group of girls and create custom sessions around their interests. I loved the sessions we created together so much that I brought it back for a second year. Jayde is a dancer who also loves my creative sessions so after some discussion we decided to do a mashup of our dance sessions and our fairy sessions for something that truly captured this creative child.

Why I loved this session: In the fall Jayde came to her little sister’s cake smash and joyfully helped in creating a beautiful session and experience for her sister. She returned for our NYE session and happily jumped around making funny noises to get her sister to smile. I was amazed by her joyful spirit that spilled over with love for her sister. After watching her excitedly work to encourage and comfort her sister I was looking forward to working with Jayde one on one to create a unique session that captured her beautiful spirit. I loved creating with her during our session time. She came with her own ideas, poses and creativity, which I loved! This green dance outfit created the perfect fairy dress to bring out her eyes. The golden sunset brought all the pieces together for this incredible little fairy.
